What to expect...
We live by faith and always will. Most of the people you meet when you visit Celebration will be nice and friendly. But you need to know, before you come, that we’re are human, full of needs, questions and love.
Some people who attend, and even lead at Celebration, have major hurts, habits, and problems. In fact, perfect people should probably not attend. We’re a community of people who are learning and discovering together what it means to find new life in Jesus, to follow Him complacently, to break free from our old stories, and to change our story so that we might help Christ change Marion, Ohio and the World. That’s sums it it. Read more about our core values, our beliefs, and our leadership.
What to Expect When You Visit
We meet at 2434 Smeltzer Road just South of Marion, Ohio.
We have an early class called Impact University. We lean and discuss various subjects like evolution, Cults and Denominations as well as how where we came from and how our beliefs came to be both in Biblical History and also during the twentieth century... This class starts at 8:30 AM on most Sundays. Coffee is served and we’re saving a seat for you!
We care about you, We’re a church full of imperfect, people who are coming to know Jesus and serving learning how to serve each other and others together, and regardless of your story, you belong here!
If you haven't been here before and you’re considering coming, here’s what to expect…
- Very Nice people. We LOVE it when people come for the first time. But, we won't always recognize you as a first-time visitor because a lot of the people who come here are still fairly new. Don't be shy, feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll help you find a seat!
- A casual atmosphere. We care about you, come as you are, feel free to come in jeans or whatever is comfortable. Our dress code is simple: wear something. Grab a hot cup of free coffee from our Cafe' and sit wherever you’d like! We will not single you out publicly or ask you to say anything, and we do not expect guests to put anything in the offering of contribute financially. We will take an offering because we have a mortgage to pay, electricity to keep the lights on , our pastor likes to eat, so we give him a salary to help care for his wife, his McDonald's habit and their nine children, most of whom are adopted...Now that's a story you will want to hear someday.
- A fun, safe place for kids. Kids love it at Celebration Christian Church! If you bring your children, you’ll check them in and out each Sunday in our Check-In room using a special tag system and our security volunteers monitor the halls during the service. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. There’s a Celebrate Kids room for grades one through five. All of our kids ministry volunteers pass background checks and have a heart for kids and families.
- Practical teaching that helps us to understand how the Bible connects to our everyday lives. We have music that is lively, and includes keyboards, drums and guitars. Some people will raise their hands as a sign of praise while they sing. You don’t need to feel obligated to do this yourself. We strive to create an atmosphere of comfort, freedom in Christ and worship in our services.
We live by faith and that involves risks. We work to stay fast and flexible in our approach to worship. We will do whatever it takes, short of sin, to find people who are far from God. we are all about Changing lives and we’ll do whatever it takes to serve others. Everybody belongs – We are a multigenerational Church and we love it! The people here have every personality, with every kind of story imaginable. We trust the Christ and the Bible completely even when we don’t fully understand it. We love missions, we really, really love missions and we do everything for God the Father and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Children are taught creative, age-appropriate curriculum. This means that Bible lessons are both developmentally and spiritually appropriate for your child, as well as fun. Children learn that Jesus loves them and wants to be their best friend, as well as how to live a life devoted to Christ.
Each weekend, a wonderful team of volunteers work together to make God come alive for children "just born" through 4th grade. Our volunteers have been selected based on their ability and desire to honor God by serving his children. In-service training is provided to our team so that we can provide an awesome children's ministry.
Our classrooms are exploding with energy, awesome music, hands-on activities, prayer, drama, interactive multi-media presentations and Bible lessons that are applicable to your child's everyday life.

Men of the congregation are encouraged to meet every Saturday morning at Celebration Christian Church and enjoy a time of fellowship, sharing and Bible Study. The gathering begins at 7:00 am. Coffee and donuts are provide on a rotating volunteer basis, but members often grab a sandwich from a local drive through on their way to the church.
The group has been reading a verse by verse study of the book of Acts led by pastor Trevor.
Every second Saturday of the month, the group meets for a Men's breakfast. This is sometimes a pot luck of what the men and their family's prepare and bring to share. Bacon, Eggs, Sausage biscuits and gravy, milk, coffee, pancakes, toast and orange juice are common. This is a time of fellowship, friendship and good food, often followed by a devotion led by one of the group.
Many times the men will continue the morning by doing maintenance on the church building and grounds. This continues the fellowship and is an opportunity to donate time, special skills and labor to support the entire congregation.
The atmosphere is come as you are and all men are welcome.

All year long volunteers from Celebration Christian Church sponsor activities that both help others in the community and helps to raise funds for each volunteer to travel to Haiti to help. We search our hearts. We don't go to have a “great experience” or to help ourselves feel grateful for what we have back home or to take photos of hurting people.
Each one of us is part of a larger story, and it’s not about our week.
We give food, discipleship, education, and care. We give love. We give Jesus. We don’t give our culture. We don’t give America. We are not the savior of the world. We know only one Savior of the world, and his name is Jesus. Our work in Haiti is simply to support the awesome work that our missions group is already doing on the ground.
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth” 1 John 3:17-18.
Come Celebrate with us. Relax, enjoy, worship and live.
Beliefs and Core Values
Change your story. Change the World.
As a non-denominational church, we unite people from all kinds of denominational backgrounds. This is a great strength of our church, but can also pose somewhat of a challenge: what are the essentials that everyone must believe? Faithful, Bible-believing Christians can disagree over dozens of issues. Below you'll find what we believe are the essentials of the Christian faith agreed upon unanimously throughout 2,000 years of church history. Our approach is pretty simple: "If you can agree with these basics then we can work together. If you can't, then it's probably better that you keep looking for another church." While people may disagree upon finer points of theology, we think every Christian can and should agree on the following:
We believe the Bible is God's inspired word and was given to provide instruction for what we should believe and how we should live our lives. We believe that the Bible is accurate and reliable, was written under direct inspiration from God, and is completely authoritative for all Christians. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that there is one true God, the Creator of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,14; John 14:26; 1 Peter 1:2)
We believe that Jesus was God's only begotten Son, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, voluntarily died on the cross for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father and acts as an intermediary on our behalf. One day Jesus will return to earth and initiate the consummation of human history. (John 1:1-18; Acts 2:22-41; Philippians 2:1-11)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. The Holy Spirit provides power to overcome sin, insight into Scripture, and personal direction in life. All believers are given the gift of the Holy Spirit at conversion, and through the Holy Spirit's presence and power are enabled to attain spiritual maturity in Christ. Through the Holy Spirit each person in the body is given certain gifts to use in ministry. (Luke 11:13; John 16:13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11)
We believe that a human being's central purpose for existence is to have a close and personal relationship with God. Originally created for that purpose, humans defied God, choosing to go their own independent way, and were thus alienated from God. This "Fall" took place at the beginning of human history, and all individuals since have suffered these consequences and are in need of God's forgiveness and mercy. A person can be forgiven by God and have that close, personal relationship restored by believing that Jesus is God's Son, repenting of their sin, and being immersed for the forgiveness of their sins. (John 3:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 3:23, 10:9; 1 John 1:9)
We believe that everyone will live forever after they die. Where one spends eternity will depend on what they do with Jesus. For all humankind there will be a resurrection into the spiritual world and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. Because unbelievers have rejected Jesus, they will be separated from His presence for all eternity in hell. Believers will be received into heaven to be with God for all eternity. (John 3:36; Revelation 20-22)
Celebration is a non-denominational church that is led by leaders from within its own church, not an outside denominational office or headquarters. Celebration is loosely associated with a fellowship of over 6,000 similar evangelical churches nationwide called, "Independent Christian Churches," claiming over 1.5 million members in the United States alone. Independent Christian Churches are among the fastest growing churches in the United States. Independent Christian Churches combine their efforts at different times to support church planting organizations, cross-cultural missionaries, benevolent associations and over 30 Christian Colleges and Seminaries.
