There's a certain extent of me that is so relieved and happy when Kids' Camp is over...the stress and worry is done. The wonder of weather no longer exists (it can rain all it wants now!). The endless piles in my office are disappearing. I can actually shop without looking for anything super hero. I can....SLEEP!
Then there's a certain extent summed up as "Kids' Camp blues"...it's quiet in the building now. All the fun and decor is packed away. No more seeing the drama/worship crew on a weekly basis for practice. No more party atmosphere. All the hard work and it's over ALREADY?! The list goes on...
Now is when I start looking and re-looking at all the pictures people have sent me or have posted on their Facebook profiles. So much time goes into the planning and preparation that I get sad that I don't get to experience every little detail of Kids' Camp! I want to watch every team play every game, I want to listen to each Team Time, I want to see their faces when they see what snack is, I want to watch our welcoming ladies at Registration as they greet new campers, I want to watch the kids make their crafts, I want to see the faces of kids watching Messy Games, I want to...you get the picture...
I wish I had words to describe the thankfulness I feel for my church family and for the Kids' Camp volunteers that make this all happen. I wish I could express the happiness of what Kids' Camp brings to Celebration. It's not just for the kids! It becomes something our adults don't want to miss out on - something people plan vacations around ORRR plan to use their vacation to volunteer at Kids' Camp. If you're reading this and you were a part of Kids' Camp in any way, I want to thank you! Thanks for being a part!
Here are just a few snaps of faces that express that happiness I was talking about:
