Round Lake

Do you have summer camp memories?  I definitely do!  I started going to church summer camp when I was in first grade and didn't stop going until I was in college! I have fond memories of building friendships, making new friends, and experiencing things away from home in a safe and trusted environment.  I remember singing songs that I only got to sing when I was at camp.  I remember camp fires.  I remember cabin time and cabin counselors.  I remember the friends that I only got to see every summer at camp.  I remember having a special connection with what I learned; learning about God and connecting to his Word in ways that were different than when I was at home and church.  I remember loving being on my own "vacation" away from parents.  :)

Thankfully we have a christian camp within a short distance from us!  Round Lake Christian Assembly offers many times of varying lengths for all age groups.  You can visit their website here for more information.  But before you do, let me share something else with you.  Mike Neff is Celebration's representative for Round Lake and it has been his goal each year to get more of our kiddos over to Round Lake throughout the summer.  It's also a goal to have Celebration adults to volunteer over at Round Lake which would benefit our kiddos to have some familiar faces while away from home.  Mike and his wife Christy are going to volunteer this year.  Mike teaches in Celebrate Kids on Sunday mornings in the K/1st grade small group.  Here is the letter he gave to his kiddos this last Sunday:

Hello Parents and Kiddos!

We are planning to take a group of kids to the Round Lake 1st and 2nd grade day camp (current K & 1st graders) on Saturday, August 13th.  Christy and I are going to stay for the day as volunteers and will provide transportation to and from the camp.  We believe this is a great way to introduce the kids to Round Lake.  Lots of fun, games, swimming, worship and connecting with each other in Christ. The cost is $32.00 per camper and times are from 8:30am-4:30pm.  There are scholarships available and will happily be given, if needed.  We will be gathering at the jer-zee ice-cream shop on E. Center Street at 7:00am (ugh!) for the 1 1/2hr trip.  Check out www.roundlake.org for more information on the camp.

Please contact me, roundlake.org or the church for registration forms.  I need to know who is planning to attend, (kids and even their friends) so we can plan for transportation.   The earlier you can let me know the better!

I hope you are as Excited as I am!

Sincerely,

Mr. Mike  (Neff)

If you're wanting to connect with Mike and get your kiddos in on the carpool, email me please or contact him directly if you have his info.
