I love Celebration. Celebration really is just an awesome place to be...such a fabulous group of God's people...a place to call HOME...At home when something needs done, everyone pitches in, does their share. At home when a part of the family is in need, the others meet their needs to the best of their ability.
Today Matt asked for some of our families with young children that normally come to second service to attend first service on Easter Sunday to better balance out the number of kiddos in Celebrate Kids. Currently it is very unbalanced and with a day that brings many visitors...well, it could create a lot of unneeded chaos. After church this morning I was in the cafe and had several people say they were coming to first for next week. I had several come up to me and say "Do you need extra help with the kids next week?" I got home from lunch and received a text saying, "I'll stay for second service next week and help wherever you need me." Then I was at Kohl's and saw Celebration peeps and some of them said the same thing, "Sure, I can help if you need me!" Thennnnn at Future Generation practice this afternoon I planned to ask them if some would volunteer to be extra help next week if they weren't already on schedule. But before I could one of them asked, "Do you need some of us to help next week since we'll probably have a ton of kids?!"
Looking back I sit here and wonder if stared with my mouth wide open at all of these instances or if I did what I think I did - smile and say, "SURE!!! Thanks! I'll be happy to put your somewhere!!" I didn't have to beg. I didn't have to plead. I didn't have to hear everyone's excuses of why they can't. Nope. None of that. I heard only of people willing to help, willing to serve, willing to be used by God.
So, thanks Celebration. Thanks for being home. Thanks for meeting the needs. Thanks for loving our God and caring for His people.
